The US is not into the rocket failure of Iran, says Trump

With the latest sanctions, the Trump administration can subject foreign companies and governments, including worldwide space co-operation organizations, to penalties if they have any involvement with the Iranian space agency.

The new consequences forbid American voters from trade dealings with Iranian entities affiliated with the rustic's space initiative, together with the Iran Space Agency itself and two of its analysis institutes, the Iran Space Research Center and the Astronautics Research Institute.

"The United States will not allow Iran to use its space-launch program as cover to advance its ballistic-missile programs", said US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in a statement announcing the sanctions.

Rabiei also criticized President Donald Trump for tweeting what appeared to be a surveillance photo of the aftermath of the explosion shot by a USA spy satellite.

Iran confirmed on Monday that an explosion had taken place at its launch site in central Semnan, but said the "accident has nothing to do with the start of our communications satellite".

The US said that the Iranian space launch vehicle technology is "virtually identical and interchangeable with those used in ballistic missiles", including ways of controlling a missile during its flight.

Elkmont is located a few miles south of the Alabama-Tennessee line. "Please be in prayer for our school and community". Deputies stated they believe the teen used a 9 mm handgun in the shooting and tossed it before calling 911.

Pompeo said the USA is imposing sanctions on the Iranian Space Agency and two related research centers, AFP reported.

It is the first time the United States has slapped sanctions against the nation's space agency.

He warned worldwide scientific community that collaborating with Iran's space program "could contribute to Tehran's ability to develop a nuclear weapon delivery system".

Rouhani told Parliament the only way his government would meet with Washington is if all US sanctions are dropped and the other parties to the 2015 nuclear deal are present. The explosion marked the third failure involving a rocket at the Iranian center, which has raised suspicions of sabotage in Iran's space program.

The image Mr Trump shared last week appeared to show devastating damage to the launch site and the charred remains of a rocket and launchpad after what appeared to be a fire.

An Iranian government official said the explosion was caused by a technical error during a test launch. Before in the week satellite pictures from Labs had revealed that a new layering of blue paint got added to that launch pad of the satellite. The United States fears long-range ballistic technology used to put satellites into orbit could also be used to launch nuclear warheads.
