Goff extension with Rams worth $134M

The Los Angeles Rams and quarterback Jared Goff agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension that will keep Goff with the team through the 2024 season, the Rams announced Tuesday night. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Goff will receive $134 million over four years. In June, the Philadelphia Eagles offered Wentz $128 million with $107.9 million guaranteed.

Jared Goff may not have won the Super Bowl this past season, but at least he's on top in one area. The Rams previously had exercised their fifth-year option in that deal, which was to pay Goff almost $4.3 million for the 2019 season and just under $22.8 million for 2020.

Each, however, will be on the rookie scale deals for the next two seasons, hence high pay from each team. This is good news for Los Angeles, who will now have all their key players under contract for the next few years.

When asked during training camp what he wanted in a contract, Goff said, "I'm interested in winning games, and whatever the best way to do that is, is what I'm for".

The 24-year-old Goff has flourished under McVay and was named a Pro Bowler each of the past two years, as the Rams went 24-7 with him as starter and advanced to Super Bowl LIII in February. He helped the Rams advance to the Super Bowl, where they fell to the Patriots.

Goff completed 64.9 percent of his passes and threw for 32 touchdowns, along with 12 interceptions, in 2018.
