The airport closed at noon Monday as Hurricane Dorian spins through the Atlantic nearing the USA east coast.

"The whole East Coast looks like it's in line of having problems, from Florida, well the Bahamas, and up through Florida, clear through the Carolinas, possibly into Virginia, where they're looking at it".

The Red Cross is coordinating with community partners and emergency responders to prepare evacuation centers for people who may seek shelter over the Labor Day weekend.

The American Red Cross responds to an emergency every eight minutes, so what are we doing locally to prepare as Hurricane Dorian approaches our nation?

The UK could be heading for an early election
In his Downing Street statement, Johnson said he believed lawmakers would not vote for the bill to prevent a no-deal exit. Johnson has planned to pull Britain out of the European Union , with or without an agreement with the EU, by October 31.

There have been more than 600 flights canceled as Hurricane Dorian makes its way to the East Coast, and some people leaving Westchester County Airport found it to be a challenge.

The US states of Florida, Georgia, North and SC have all declared states of emergency. "I help because it gives people hope".

"I've talked with a few people, and yes, they're definitely concerned, but there's others that, they've weathered storms before and they know what to expect and so they're just hunkering down and doing what they need to do to get ready for it", Purnell said.

"We also have disaster health and mental health volunteers who are certified medical professionals, who can offer storm victims comfort and hope", McIntyre said.
