He also joked "it would have been awesome" had he handed the award to Jolie, and that he "should have just gone all the way with it".

Fortunately, Jade certainly saw the amusing side to the on-screen mistake as she also played Taylor in the popstar's latest music video. "So nice to meet you, too!"

The gaffe took place when the singer won Video of the Year for the queer star-studded "You Need to Calm Down", which featured Jade and several other RuPaul's Drag Race alumni, many of whom rushed to the stage to join Swift in accepting her trophy.

And she nearly did too good of a job actually, because John wasn't the only one to confuse her for T-Swift. "So I just started hugging people". 'Taylor thought it was hilarious'. But in a new interview with Hot 93.3 in Dallas-Fort Worth, Travolta claims he actually just couldn't find Swift on the stage. 'If I mispronounce something, that's headlines, and I know that about me'. After it was announced that she'd won the award, the Grammy victor took the stage along with the cast and crew of the video, including RuPaul's Drag Race alum Jolie. "Yeah, I saw it and we talked about it backstage".

Jolie, on the other hand, was just excited that she was nearly awarded her first-ever VMA.

Obviously the Fourth of July and Memorial Day go in front of it. Which is up from last year's count of 16.9 million passengers.

She also said that Taylor herself thought the moment was amusing.

Hadid and Swift are good friends. The performer says that she "loves" that Taylor writes her own music and has a "positive" image. And Jade Jolie, a drag queen who was also seen dressed as Taylor Swift in her video as well as for the VMA's - with a blonde "lob", Travolta mistook her for the pop star.

She added, "The drunker we got, I guess the more Taylor I became for everyone!"

John Travolta, 65, attended the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles where he presented the Video Of The Year statuette alongside Queen Latifah yesterday.

In a new interview with NewNowNext, RuPaul's Drag Race alum Jade Jolie opened up more about the unforgettable experience of dressing in Tay-themed drag for the MTV awards show, where she was apparently mistaken for the star a couple of times.
