Heightened security in Boston for Straight Pride Parade

While the Super Happy Fun America website claims the event aims to "educate the public about straight issues and foster unity and respect", its organizers are closely associated with white supremacist groups in Boston. "We will fight for the right of straights everywhere to express pride in themselves without fear of judgment and hate".

Police in Boston were gearing up for possible clashes Saturday between "Straight Pride Parade" demonstrators supportive of President Donald Trump and counter-protesters who accuse them of being homophobic and extremist.

An organization calling itself Super Happy Fun America announced the parade as Boston celebrated LGBTQ Pride Month earlier this summer, saying it believes straight people are an oppressed majority.

Far-right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos was the grand marshal for the march from Copley Square to City Hall.

Although things can always get worse, Boston's Straight Pride Parade went about as terribly as expected this weekend.

Super Happy Fun America's website says Saturday's march is to "spread awareness of issues impacting straights, ' describing heterosexuals as 'an oppressed majority" in MA, the first USA state to legalize same-sex marriage.

On to Monday night: after Saints fall to Dolphins
The Dolphins are expected to start Jake Rudock, but they needed to dress two quarterbacks in case Rudock got hurt. Rosen may yet get that chance this season to prove his value as a starter, but it won't come during Week 1.

A trans woman was even pictured walking with a Trump sign that she decorated with the trans flag.

Homes and businesses along the parade route also displayed messages of support for the LGBT+ community from windows and doorways. Gay couple Marky Hutt and Peter Brown, also proud Trump supporters, held hands.

"My fellow homosexuals have been embarrassing me for decades", he told AFP.

Officers fired pepper spray and made several arrests. 'Finally I found my crowd'.

Most who came to protest the parade identified the group as being white supremacist, as seen by signs at the rally.

Counter-protesters showed up in droves in an attempt to show their declaration of self-love. We encourage everyone to embrace our community's diverse history, culture, and identity regardless of sexual orientation. 'We should celebrate our differences and celebrate the ways in which people from all backgrounds have contributed to this country'.
