F2 driver Anthoine Hubert dies after massive crash at Spa

Hubert's BWT Arden vehicle then bounced back across the circuit and was hit at high speed by Juan Manuel Correa's auto.

The race was suspended as emergency crews were sent to the scene, although the FIA later confirmed that Huber, 22, had died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

The horrendous crash occurred on the second lap of the Formula 2 feature race and started when Giuliano Alesi lost control of his auto on the entry to Raidillon.

Hubert was the reigning GP3 champion, winning last year's title with ART Grand Prix before stepping up to Formula 2 this year.

Hubert was in the midst of an impressive debut season in F2, sitting eighth in the championship with two wins to his name, in Monaco and France.

"The FIA is providing support to the event organisers and the relevant authorities, and has commenced an investigation into the incident."The race was immediately cancelled after the crash".

Craig Wright 'to Pay BTC 1m' as Judge 'Rejects' His Testimony
Wright, 48, claimed in 2016 he was mysterious Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto , though that claim has come under serious doubt. How can this impact the price of BTC? Wright does have a recourse open to him as he can appeal the judge's recommendation.

Hubert was racing this season with BWT Arden, which is allied with the SportPesa Racing Point F1 team.

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton wrote on Instagram: "This is devastating".

"From everyone at ROKiT Williams Racing, our thoughts and prayers go out to the colleagues, friends and family of Anthoine Hubert following the tragic news in Spa today", said ROKiT Williams Racing.

He won the French F4 series at the first attempt, before spending two seasons in Formula Renault 2.0. Medical tents were set up on track to treat the drivers. Anthoine is a hero as far as I'm concerned, for taking the risk he did to chase his dreams. "Let's lift him up and remember him". Correa is in a stable condition in CHU Liège hospital. "Rest in peace brother".

Hubert is the first person to die at a Grands Prix event since Jules Bianchi at the Japanese Grand Prix back in 2014.
