National Football League teams that should give Carli Lloyd a shot at kicker

Lloyd booted a 55-yard field goal with a running start at the Eagles' facility earlier this month, and later revealed that she had "inquiries" from National Football League teams about her availability. "Making an open-field tackle as a 5'7" kicker would be tough-though with her skills and the NFL's new rules, she could probably just boot each kickoff out of the end zone and avoid ever needing to.

There were 49,504 fans at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Thursday night for the USWNT's friendly against Portugal, breaking the record for the largest crowd for a standalone friendly in team history. Thursday's game was the second on a so-called "victory tour" for the team that clinched the World Cup in France in July.

US Coach Jill Ellis, who is stepping down from the team following the victory tour, joked when asked about it: "Did you hear the next one that I'm going to be her agent?"

The two-time FIFA Women's World Cup champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist celebrated her goal by paying homage to the hometown Eagles with an NFL-centric "Fly, Eagles, Fly" celebration. Her cross in the 82nd minute set up Long's goal and put a finishing touch on the rout.

"I don't play for goals".

"To be able to score in front of a home crowd, the Eagles stadium, friends and family, it was pretty cool". As Lloyd herself said, there's a first for everything - and she could very well be the one to break the NFL's oldest barrier. "I want to make sure I can actually get on to the field and practice and do the right technique".

In the 82nd minute, it was then time for Lloyd to get in on the assist action as she found herself in plenty of space on the right and played a ideal cross for Allie Long to head in and cap the scoring.

Press then provided the assist for the second U.S. goal, swinging in an inviting corner which found an unmarked Morgan Brian whose downward header deceived Portugal goalkeeper Patricia Morais and bounced into the net. "And that's basically what you're getting out there - you're feeling the love from the fans".

"I have to really sit down and think about it".

USA stars Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe did not play because of injury.
