Fans Thrilled as Alyson Stoner Reunites With Missy Elliott at VMAs

Just about 17 years ago, Elliott dropped her legendary "Work It" music video, which featured some epic dance moves from a very talented little girl, Stoner, who very almost stole the show from the emcee.

Seriously, Lizzo won the VMAs (at least in our hearts) regardless of how many awards she takes home. Studies show Newark's water has some of the highest levels of lead contamination in the country.

Inside, Swift kicked off the VMAs, going from eye-popping pop star to guitar-strumming singer-songwriter. "Her creative vision across production, performance and songwriting is unmatched".

In addition to the entire arena that she got moving and grooving - including an especially enthusiastic Queen Latifah - Lizzo's performance also captured the attention of millions on social media, from politicians like Kamala Harris and Kirsten Gillibrand to celebrities like Elizabeth Banks and Amber Riley.

The 31-year-old and her crew then segued into a twerk-fest before she switched things up to her feel-good anthem "Good As Hell", taking us to church as the stage evolved into a hip-hop heaven.

Swift and a number of cast members from the video appeared onstage to accept the honour.

The star went on to express her desire to collab with Rihanna in the near future, explaining to ET, "Listen, we need a video of Rihanna in the studio, period". And yes, she also showcased her support for the Equality Act thanks to her set design.

You Need to Calm Down also captured the category of "video for good". And I'm always in contact with her brother, you know, checking on them. "This is such a lovely place", said Hall, who co-executive-produced the video.

Swift won three trophies, tying with Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish for most wins of the night. The singer was nominated for six awards, including Artist of the Year, so she was clearly in a celebrating mood.

If you've seen the video for Missy Elliott's 2002 song "Work It", you probably remember the little girl in the pigtails with the slick dance moves.

The other performance full of emotion was Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello's sensual duet of their hit song, "Señorita".

Missy Elliott almost made the VMA audience lose control with her medley of two decades worth of musical hits.
