David Luiz calls for defensive improvement from Arsenal

Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka has urged his side to forget about the 3-1 loss to Arsenal and focus on next weekend's North London Derby encounter with bitter rivals Spurs.

The first time Fabinho locked horns with Arsenal in the Premier League it proved to be a chastening experience for the Liverpool midfielder.

"We managed to do that, so overall it was a really good performance. The boys did what we wanted them to do and scored wonderful goals". I should have cleared it on the edge of the box.

The Reds finished in second place in the Premier League table last term and a point adrift of Manchester City.

Arsenal though slipped to 3-0 behind as Liverpool showed a ruthless streak, with a late Lucas Torriera goal only adding a veneer of respectability to the result for the visitors.

Arsenal faced Liverpool on Saturday and everyone was eagerly waiting to see the front three of the gunners for the first time together but Unai Emery made a decision to use only Aubameyang and Pepe, and benched Lacazette.

Mohamed Salah hit a lovely double while Joel Matip opened his account from a corner as the Reds cruised to victory.

"I wouldn't say they are up for grabs, the players who have got the shirt now [Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum] are first choice now, but you could easily see Oxlade-Chamberlain going in there, Naby Keita when he's fit, James Milner".

Mo Salah was once again the difference between the sides as the Egyptian superstar continued his and Liverpool's fine recent run against Arsenal to torment David Luiz en route to securing three points at the Emirates.

Klopp believes this week is a key one for him and his players as, once they return after the internationals, the workload increases significantly as the Champions League and Carabao Cup kick in.

When all was said and done, though, a minimum of one of the outfits were guaranteed to see their flawless start brought to an end. In the end, you are going to make the counts and you are going to see what went well and what did not and in this period we have to try and improve.

"In this week (leading up to the Arsenal game) it was completely different, we liked that and now we have another week like this and I am looking forward to it".
