The Obamas' Summer '19 Playlist: Drake, Lizzo, Stevie Wonder & More

"With summer winding down, here's a sampling of what Michelle and I have been listening to - some new, some old, some fast, some slow", Obama wrote of the 44-song playlist.

The Nigerian social media has been buzzing with excitement ever since former USA president, Barack Obama shared his summer playlist for 2019 and Nigerian singer Rema made the list!

But you've got Lizzo on the list-o, and even newcomer Lil Nas X and his famous "Old Town Road (Remix)" are on the list as well.

Other global stars on the playlist include Drake, who occupies No 1, Jay Z, Beyonce, Lauryn Hill, Jill Scott, Frank Sinatra, Rihanna, DJ Khaled, and Robin Thicke amongst others.

According to The Sun, Mick, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie said the honour was "a milestone in our long and eventful history". NASA's InSight lander is studying the deep interior of Mars, seismic activity, and the frequency of meteor strikes.


Barack shared 44 songs that himself and Michelle have had in rotation throughout the summer. The playlist features Ella Fitzgerald's "How High The Moon", Donny Hathaway's "I'll Love You More Than You'll Ever Know", as well as Stevie Wonder's "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing".

Also included on the list are "Burning" by Maggie Rogers, Steely Dan's "Reelin' In The Years", "Can U Believe" by Robin Thicke, "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison, and SZA's "Go Gina".

If you've been anywhere near a radio this summer, you won't be surprised to find that Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello's "Señorita" is on this playlist.
