Manchester United beaten by Crystal Palace after De Gea fail

Their last triumph over United was back in 1991, while nearly 30 years had passed since they last took the spoils away from a trip to the Theatre of Dreams.

Speaking before United's Premier League loss to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, Solskjaer called for "authorities to do something" about the problem.

Jordan Ayew opened the scoring in the first-half at Old Trafford, but United fans thought a point was salvaged on 88 minutes thanks to a brilliant equaliser from Daniel James.

United had beaten Chelsea 4-0 in their opening game of the season, but their light-hearted tweet aged very badly after the team went on to lose to Roy Hodgson's outfit.

He also slammed the way they completely lost control of the game in the final five minutes after managing to drag themselves back into it through James' goal.

But it came at the other end when Crystal Palace scampered forward in stoppage time for Patrick van Aanholt to score a 93rd victor.

The England worldwide was abused after missing a penalty in Saturday's 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace.

"I think we were unlucky with Martial's clear and obvious penalty", said Solskjaer.

Rashford was one of several to speak out in defence of Pogba and against racism, writing on Twitter: "Manchester United is a family". "[The first goal] was one long kick, such an easy goal, and the last goal, David has not touched the ball [all game] and they score again".

He added: "I was gutted when that Manchester United goal went in".

The win was Crystal Palace's first for the season and they climbed to 10th in the table with four points after three matches.

But Solskjaer would do well to look very closely at this 2-1 scoreline, at how his team contrived to hand victory to their opponents as they chased a victor themselves, and give very serious thought to how he can stop it happening again.
