More Strong to Severe Storms Possible Today

The rain totals below were collected at 7 a.m. Sunday. Sunday starts unsettled as a cold front rolls into the region.

Again, we have the chance to see a few afternoon pop-up storms.

About the southern half of Lower Michigan is in the slight risk of severe weather area. We'll have a chance of showers and storms (30%) but severe weather is not expected. Some storms could produce heavy rain and lightning. The good news is that most of your Sunday looks to be dry, but will begin to showers and storms. The radar forecast from this model, called the High Resolution Rapid Refresh, shows a second line of storms developing late this afternoon over southeast Lower Michigan. Only an isolated storm or two.

It will be much nicer Thursday through Saturday with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.

A line of showers and storms is moves through western Mass late in the evening. We'll see high temperatures top out near the mid 90s with the heat index between 105-108 degrees. High pressure slides in by Friday and we can enjoy some cooler and more comfortable conditions briefly!
