The Crown season 3 release date announced

The Crown season 3 release date announced

Netflix has announced that is the date Season 3 of the The Crown will debut. While The Crown is already one of Netflix's more popular shows, having an Oscar-winning actress in the lead role certainly won't harm the show's following, and I'm eager to see how Colman's take on Queen Elizabeth compares to Claire Foy, who played the character for the first two seasons.

As well as giving us a date, Netflix also offered a first look at actress Olivia Colman as the Queen, in a brand new teaser trailer. The new series, which was written by Peter Moran, will also star Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret and Ben Daniels as Tony Armstrong-Jones. Parker Bowles is played by Call the Midwife's Emerald Fennell and Prince Charles by Josh O'Connor. It spans the years 1964-77, during the Swinging '60s and through the '70s, up to the cusp of Margaret Thatcher's election as prime minister in 1979.

Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzies will play Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in the upcoming season of The Crown.
