Severe weather is expected to blanket the area that includes Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.

There is good continuity off short-term forecast models for a storm "cluster" here late tonight that would entails a damaging wind threat, prolific rainfall and lightning strikes.

The unsafe heat in the South is expected to continue into Tuesday.
