Perisic joins Bayern on one-year loan from Inter Milan

Ivan Perisic looks set to complete a move to Bayern Munich after undergoing a medical with the Bundesliga champions.

"Ivan will help us immediately with his long-term experience at the global top level".

The Croatian will move to Germany in exchange for five million euros, while the deal also includes a 25-million-euro purchase option at the end of the season.

Arsenal made an approach to sign Perisic in January, while he has also been linked with Manchester United.

The Croatia global underwent medical tests on Monday morning in Munich with Bayern, who are desperately seeking reinforcement in the wide areas.

Having joined in 2015, Perisic spent four years at Inter, representing the Nerazzurri on 163 occasions while scoring 40 goals and assisting a further 37 strikes.

"I'm very glad to be back in Germany", he said.

He has agitatedly acknowledged Bayern's interest in Sane but has become to sound like a broken record regarding the club's stance.

"Perisic can't play in the role that I want". Yet several former Bayern players have insisted that Perisic would be more than just a plan B.

After the departures of long-time tandem Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery at the end of last season, Bayern have been looking to replenish their attacking options.

Bayern launch their Bundesliga season at home to Hertha Berlin on Friday.
