Mooy joins Ryan's Brighton on loan, signs new Huddersfield deal

Brighton & Hove Albion have confirmed the loan signing of midfielder Aaron Mooy after the Australian global also signed a new three-year deal at Huddersfield.

Traveling Brighton and Hove Albion fans saw their side score 16 goals last season away from the Amex Stadium.

In Graham Potter's first competitive game in charge of Albion, his side took a 29th-minute lead after a ball across the box from Pascal Gross was turned into his own net by Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Brighton defender Lewis Dunk then produced a fine through-ball from distance that Frenchman Maupay ran on to and converted from a hard angle with his left foot to seal the victory with 13 minutes left.

Speaking after the game, Potter, who replaced Chris Hughton as Brighton boss this summer, was keen to look at the season ahead and not get carried away with the win.

"We've been working really hard to play this way... it's just the start of the season... the boys are behind the manager and agree with his ideas", Maupay told the BBC.

Ruiz Jr's Trainer Says Rematch With Anthony Joshua Hasn't Been Agreed
Boxing heavyweight standouts Andy Ruiz Jr . and Anthony Joshua are expected to rematch on December 7 in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. But once the venue and date were confirmed, Mexico's first top division title holder chose not to comment.

Playing with five at the back for much of the game, Brighton often had Watford at sixes and sevens. It's the first game and we have a lot of games and time to improve.

Watford saw their challenge for a 7th place finish in last season's Premier League fall by the wayside towards the end of last term. "We need to focus on another tough match on Saturday".

"We're not flawless and we're not going to get too carried away and we won't get too carried away when we don't have a good day".

Watford manager Javi Gracia said his team had no excuses after making too many errors.

Up until the middle of this week, Watford's preparations for the new campaign had been somewhat of a slow burner with only Craig Dawson being brought in to strengthen the first-team squad. Sometimes it's good to wake up and improve. "There were many individual mistakes".
