Model S Crashes Into Tow Truck In Russia, Injuring Three People

Both the driver and his children passengers were brought to a local hospital where they were treated and released. The driver suffered a broken leg in the collision while the children were left with bruises, the news channel reported. According to reports, the vehicle was on Autopilot at the time of the accident.

Asked in a video published on REN TV website if he was using an Autopilot self-driving system, driver Alexei Tretyakov said he was in a drive assistance mode in which he was still holding the steering wheel. The driver, director general of investment fund Arikapital Alexey Tretyakov, was hospitalized, while two of his children, who were also with him in the vehicle, suffered minor injuries.

Tretyakov said was driving at around 100 km (62 miles) per hour - the speed limit - when the vehicle crashed on its left side into the stationary tow truck that he had not noticed. In the latest report it said a Tesla fire had occurred for every 170 million miles travelled between 2012 and 2018 compared to a petrol-powered vehicle fire for every 19 million miles travelled in the USA in the same period. Some Tesla owners bought higher models since they provide greater range, they claimed that Tesla removed this with the software update which resulted to devaluing their tesla cars, limiting the distance their vehicles can travel and forcing them to recharge their vehicles more frequently.

The two truck had been aiding a Lada auto which had broken down.

Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
