LG G8X renders forecast waterdrop notch and in-display fingerprint sensor

LG G8X renders forecast waterdrop notch and in-display fingerprint sensor

Now, if the latest scoop is any indications, there might be two more offerings from LG as the Korean firm has trademarked two smartphones related monikers ahead of the IFA event.

The LG G8X ThinQ is tipped to be the company's first smartphone to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. Now, its successor, thought to be called the LG G8x, could be revealed next month at the annual IFA show in Germany, and it'll supposedly feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, according to leaked renders shared by OnLeaks.

Smartphones from the stables of USA tech giant Apple and China's Huawei are also expected to hit shelves in the coming months. The South Korean OEM looks set to launch an updated version of the LG G8 from earlier in the year alongside the dual-screen V60 it teased last week.

On July 28, Jennifer Lopez and Rodriguez's daughters interrupted ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball to wish him a happy 44th birthday. Police are reportedly investigating the incident in order to find the crooks who busted into the sports star's rental.

Unlike the G8 ThinQ, which sports a wide notch, the G8X ThinQ will have a less intrusive waterdrop cutout at the top.

The back of the phone isn't very different compared to its predecessor. It has a dual rear camera setup accompanied with an LED flash, aligned horizontally, like the one we have seen in G8 ThinQ. The screen on the device is of 6.2-inches that comes with thin bezels on sides and it is said to be measuring 159.3 mm x 75.8 mm x 8.5 mm. The renders further indicate there's a traditional speaker at the top, rather than LG's Crystal Sound OLED speaker setup. The rest of the phone's specifications, however, are yet to surface.

The handset could be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC instead of Snapdragon 855 processor but we should wait and see for it.
