Jamie Chadwick: "best year of my career so far"

Jamie Chadwick:

"It's hugely important", she added of the significance of winning the title. While Chadwick was driving purely to protect her advantage, her rivals scented blood. Powell maintained her lead to take the race win, while Kimilainen came in second.

The 21-year-old had started from pole position in front of her home crowd as clear favourite, 13 points clear of Dutch title rival Beitske Visser who lined up fifth, but she made hard work of it. Only belatedly, after a brief safety-car period, did she rediscover the rhythm to hold on. "The pressure just got to me a little bit". She is definitely one to watch in the coming seasons.

With Alice Powell crossing the finish line first in Kent for her maiden win in the six-race series, Chadwick needed to finish fourth to be crowned champion following victories in Hockenheim and Misano, as well as podium finishes at every other race.

"This year's provided a platform I would never otherwise have had", said Chadwick, who last year became the first woman to win a round of the regular British Formula Three championship.

"It's going to be a close fight, and I guess that's great for the championship". I want to go on to achieve a lot in the sport and next year I will prepare myself in he best way to do that. Next year will also see drivers eligible to score FIA Super Licence points, which are vital in order to become a Formula One driver.

‘Unprecedented’: Supermassive Black Hole at Our Galaxy’s Center Just Flashed Like Crazy
Supermassive black hole Sagittarius A* (Sgr A*) suddenly glowed way too brighter than its normal state in May earlier this year. While the supermassive black hole itself isn't visible, its so-called electromagnetic counterpart can be tracked.

Chadwick said that was a big plus for the series' credibility, making the dream of Formula One much more attainable for female racers.

W Series Chief Executive Catherine Bond Muir has promised extra European rounds for 2020, with the series looking to expand further across the globe in the following years.

"Naturally there are still some critics, but I think generally the reception to at least the first race was really positive".

"I suspected that W Series had the potential to be something big, but I never expected it to be this big". At turn two, Chadwick uncharacteristically dropped to third as Powell slipped through the gap to take the lead and Kimilainen followed into second.
