Jeffrey Epstein Dead, But Case Not Over

Locked in a prison cell, some believe Jeffrey Epstein found a way to escape his charges.

"With the obvious end to criminal proceedings against Epstein, it is important that the US House Committee on Oversight and Reform begin its investigation".

Epstein was found unconscious at around 6:30am Saturday inside his NY prison cell and rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. "Life saving measures were imitated immediately", before Epstein was transported to a hospital in Lower Manhattan where he was pronounced dead.

"We are hopeful that the government will continue to investigate and will focus on those who participated and facilitated Epstein's horrifying sex trafficking scheme that damaged so many", McCawley said in a statement. "What in the hell happened here? He knew justice was coming and he could not face it".

Thousands of records were unsealed Friday in one of the cases surrounding Epstein's alleged sex ring.

Virginia Giuffre accused Maxwell of procuring girls for sexual abuse by Epstein and some of his powerful friends, including former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, wealthy financier Glenn Dubin, Britain's Prince Andrew, former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell, modeling scout Jean-Luc Brunel, and scientist Marvin Minsky.

The president said he'd thrown Epstein out of his Mar-a-Lago club in West Palm Beach, Fla., and that he'd never visited Epstein's Little St. James Island in the Caribbean, a place that locals call "Pedophile Island" and "Orgy Island". She once served as the head psychologist at the prison were Epstein died. This is different from a round-the-clock suicide watch, which is much more restrictive. A person familiar with Barr's thinking told CBS News that Barr was livid about Epstein's death and was determined to get to the bottom of it.

Cameron Lindsay, a former warden who ran three federal lockups, said the death represents "an unfortunate and shocking failure, if proven to be a suicide". "The fact that Jeffrey Epstein was able to commit the selfish act of taking his own life as his world of abuse, exploitation, and corruption unraveled is unfortunate, yet predictable".

His relationships with Trump, former U.S. president Bill Clinton and Britain's Prince Andrew were at the center of those online rumors and theories, many of which question what politicians knew about Epstein's alleged sex crimes.

"The victims deserved to see Epstein held accountable, and he owed it to everyone he hurt to accept responsibility for all of the pain he caused", Edwards said.

But "Clinton" wasn't the only name becoming fodder for proponents of conspiracies around Epstein's death.

The federal investigation into the allegations remains steadfast, U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman said.

The FBI is investigating Epstein's death.

After learning of Epstein's death while in federal custody, Attorney General William Barr ordered an investigation by the FBI and inspector general.

Barr put out the following official statement on Saturday, "I was appalled to learn that Jeffrey Epstein was found dead early this morning from an apparent suicide while in federal custody".

Epstein's lawyers maintained that the new charges in NY were covered by the 2008 plea deal and that Epstein hadn't had any illicit contact with underage girls since serving his 13-month sentence in Florida. "To those courageous young women who have already come forward and to the many others who have yet to do so, let me reiterate that we remain committed to standing for you, and our investigation of the conduct charged in the Indictment-which included a conspiracy count-remains ongoing", Manhattan U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman said in a statement.

That chatter picked up on the conjecture and conspiracies that resurged after Epstein's July 6 arrest on allegations that he orchestrated a sex-trafficking ring created to bring him teenage girls.
