Tottenham Hotspur set for busy transfer deadline day

As of yesterday, Tottenham had entered into talks with Barcelona to take Coutinho on loan for the upcoming season.

We've been strongly linked with a move for Tierney throughout the summer window and the newspaper says Arsenal chiefs are locked in negotiations with Celtic trying to push through a £25m deal.

Sky even claim 'Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino phoned Coutinho in an effort to convince him to return to England'. Additionally, Barcelona were also looking save the €20 million they would have to pay in variables to Liverpool if Coutinho makes 100 appearances. "But it's not my decision, it's the club's and Philippe's".

Pochettino worked with Coutinho earlier in his career at Espanyol, where he scored five goals in 16 games in a successful six-month loan stint from Inter Milan.

It was first suggested that a move to Arsenal was a possibility. Jurgen Klopp told ESPN FC that Liverpool could not afford a deal to re-sign the Brazilian, while Arsenal were never interested, despite reports in Spain to the contrary.

Anglo-Irish relations ‘would fundamentally change in no-deal Brexit scenario’
Mr Gove, who is in charge of no-deal planning, said he was "deeply saddened" by the EU's refusal to reopen the Withdrawal Agreement.

Barcelona have offered Coutinho to Spurs, and the suggestion hasn't been turned down.

Barca had been confident a move to Tottenham was possible but with time ticking down for English clubs, they are said to have accepted they will not offload the No 10.

Valverde, after the friendly defeat of Napoli, was pushed about the midfielder's situation.

We're now at the business end of the summer transfer window and managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads so we'll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the world.

Like Manchester United, it has been pretty comical to see Arsenal blatantly ignore their need to sign new defenders in recent seasons and instead prioritize buying attacking player after attacking player.
