Arsenal reject Everton's £30m Iwobi bid

Arsenal reject Everton's £30m Iwobi bid

Everton are now seeking alternatives and Metro UK claims that Iwobi has been targeted by the Toffees.

But it is believed Iwobi would go if a deal is agreed with Everton.

The 23 year old Nigerian is willing to play anywhere across the attacking part of midfield, and could prove a better option on the right than former Arsenal man Theo Walcott.

Welbeck started his career with Manchester United, where he scored 20 Premier League goals in 92 appearances after making his debut in 2008.

As for why Everton may now be chasing Iwobi, that's likely to be as a result of a failure to land Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace.

Teens Gauff, McNally reach Citi Open women's doubles final
But she has lost only one set this week in ending the dream of McNally, who had ousted fourth-seeded Hsieh Su-wei on Friday. Coco Gauff (L) and Catherine Mcnally pose with the trophies after winning the women's doubles final of Washington Open.

Yet, even if Zaha does not leave Palace before the transfer window closes on Thursday, he is adamant that he will move to a European club later this month.

McCarthy was initially offered as part exchange for Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha, but the London club rejected that offer, according to Mail Online, and pursued the Ireland worldwide separately.

Crystal Palace have rejected a £70m bid from Everton for Wilfried Zaha plus James McCarthy (permanent) and Cenk Tosun on loan.

Zaha has been linked away for a while now, but has stuck with Palace despite interest from other clubs in several previous windows.
