Two deaths from West Nile virus reported in Greece

AURORA, Sevier County-Central Utah public health officials are alerting the public because mosquitoes trapped near Aurora in Sevier County have tested positive for the West Nile virus. The Health District advises that people try to prevent mosquito bites and to rid the areas around their homes of standing water where insects can breed.

This year in Europe, 33 human West Nile virus (WNV) infections have been recorded, with the bulk of the cases seen in Greece.

The West Nile virus has been detected in CT every summer for the past 30 years.

West Nile activity has ramped up in Sacramento County since the district reported finding evidence of the virus in early July.
