Rapper A$AP Rocky Released From Jail In Sweden

- A Swedish court has ruled that rapper A$AP Rocky and two other suspects will be released from jail and remain free until August 14, when an assault verdict will be announced.

U.S. rapper A$AP Rocky and two members of his entourage have been freed from jail in Sweden, where they had been held since early July after being charged with assault.

The rapper A$AP Rocky is out of Swedish jail and back in the USA this morning after a monthlong saga that's drawn the attention of music fans, celebrities and President Trump.

Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, is accused with two others of beating a 19-year-old man in Stockholm on June 30. He had been behind bars since he was arrested on July 3.

A$AP Rocky's European tour has always been cancelled because of the rapper's extended detention in a Swedish prison. "I couldn't help but assume that these guys were under the influence of some type of drug", he said. Instagram posts by the rapper showed two men following them after being told by his entourage to walk away. Mayers' mother, Renee Black, was present throughout court proceedings and was with her son when he was released.

As for Trump's relation to the case, the president has spent a considerable amount of time publicizing the case and calling for Swedish authorities to free Mayers. She and a friend, testifying anonymously at Stockholm District Court, both maintained that they did see Mayers and his partners assaulting Jafari, though.

In the meantime, Mayers is free to return to his family and friends. Jovicic has also said there was no evidence of the bottle hitting him.

The prosecution had argued that after an argument, Mayers threw Jafari to the ground, after which he and two of his entourage kicked and punched the teenager.

Rap megastar A$AP Rocky will be released from custody in Sweden pending a verdict.

A lawyer for the defendants, who had been detained in Sweden since early July, confirmed that the three men were free to travel outside of the country now that their trial has ended. I will be calling the very talented prime minister of Sweden to see what we can do about helping A$AP Rocky.
