Cardi B cancels show in Indianapolis due to 'security threat'

Hours before the doors opened for the show, the Bronx rapper was preparing to give her fans a major show at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Tuesday night (July 30) in Indianapolis, Ind.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Cardi postponed her show due to the threat but it poses no danger to the public.

The multitude, who were already packed inside the Banker's Life Field House venue in the capital city of in, was notified by Twitter of the postponement just 36 minutes before the show's scheduled start at 7 p.m. on July 30, 2019. In a statement to Billboard, the rapper's rep said, "Due to a security threat and safety concerns at this evening's show, management has advised that this show be postponed".

Authorities released a statement saying, "This evening, there was a scheduled concert at Bankers Life".

"Dear Indiana people I'm so sorry for today", she wrote. "Unfortunately there was a security threat that is currently under investigation right now".

Promoters Mammoth Live reported a "security threat" at the venue, while police claimed this was "unverified".

The post said Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, had earlier rehearsed at the arena.

Additionally, Cardi shared a video from the venue of her explaining the situation, which, she said, she was told not to post immediately "cause they where [sic] doing a [sic] investigation".

"There still a federal investigation going on", Cardi tweeted.

Cardi continued her explanation to fans in an Instagram caption. "I love you guys". The news was enough to push the Bronx rapper and her team to cancel the event for a later date. Rescheduled date is September 11.
