Second orbit raising manoeuvre of Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft performed ISRO

The Rs 978 crore spacecraft "Chandrayaan-2" is comprised of three segments - the Orbiter, the Lander "Vikram" and Rover "Pragyan". During this period, the optical high-resolution camera on-board will be turned on to scout for a suitable landing site in the lunar south pole.

This week began with a bang as a major space milestone was achieved by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in the form of Chandrayaan 2.

It will be the second time India has been to the moon.

"This is important not only for water, but also to study a fossil record of the early solar system, and to understand the linked history of the Earth-Moon system".

The spacecraft launched successfully as per the revised schedule. After the successful launch, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chungying announced that Beijing was ready to work with India and other countries to explore space.

Given that the pale blue dot of Earth is just 12,750km across, a small nudge to a big rock may be enough to avoid annihilation. Smaller asteroids like 2019 OK are hard to detect, unlike the almost 90 percent of asteroids that are a kilometer are larger.

Dr. Kai-Uwe Schrogl, President of the International Institute of Space Law, said that joint mission would be "very complicated".

The country launched a space probe to Mars in 2014 and is planning a second for 2022. This would save fuel for the spacecraft, which can be used to "play around with the manoeuvre" Isro chairperson K Sivan had said after the launch.

The Hyderabad unit has also designed, developed, manufactured and assembled the 3-Axis CNC vertical-facing mill for supply to ISRO's Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota (SDSC SHARJ), for machining of the solid rocket motors.

How India's Chandrayaan 2 will make it to the moon. Chungying believes that joint work would promote a "shared mission of humankind" aimed at learning more about the Moon and beyond. Nearly half of them belong to US-based organisations, 300 originate from China and roughly half that number from Russian Federation.

After over a decade of mission planning and implementation, the assembly of batteries for all stages of launch vehicle was completed on June 18, 2019. He cited the UN's Outer Space Treaty and Moon Treaty, which state that "planetary bodies are the province of all humankind".
