The latter stunt puts the entire load at 1.25 million pounds, according to Linda Zhang, chief engineer on the electric truck project.

The Ford F-150 is something of an American institution - and it's about to go electric. Ford will be using the MEB platform of Volkswagen for its electric vehicles. This spring, Musk-who is never shy about boasting-claimed on the podcast "Ride the Lightning" that Tesla's all-electric pickup "will be a better truck than an F-150 in terms of truck-like functionality, and be a better sports vehicle than a standard [Porsche] 911".

Ford first confirmed that an electric and a hybrid version of the F-150 was coming in a few years time earlier this January.

Faisal also confirmed that the Pakistani prime minister extended an invitation to Trump to visit Islamabad , which he accepted. India quickly denied it and said Modi made no such request and Kashmir is a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan.

Ford has recently given an incredible demonstration of the strength of its electric pickup truck. However, Ford has yet to unveil the range that its electric F-150 offers. But here we are, well into the summer of 2019, and the theoretical better-than-an-F-150 pickup has no planned release date. In other words, don't try this at home.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has made bold claims about the company's upcoming electric pickup. The company has said it will spend $11.5 billion to produce over a dozen electrified models (which includes EVs and hyrbids) by 2022.

As you can imagine, persuading the F-150's customer base to trade gas for electricity will be a tough job, so Ford's marketing team has skipped the spec sheets, and shown in clear terms just what an electric pick-up can do. Ford has also announced a collaboration between Volkswagen and itself.
