"When you touch glory, sometimes you behave and feel different and the players feel different", Pochettino said.

But the heartbreak led him to have a change of heart because he wanted to help the club rebound from the gut-wrenching loss.

"After the final, this was not great to finish like this". I'm not a person that avoids facing problems or a hard situation.

"Of course I'd love Ryan Sessegnon to be at the club".

"I love a massive challenge, a hard challenge and of course now to rebuild that mentality to make it possible to repeat a similar season, that is exciting and motivates me a lot".

Tottenham defied expectations by reaching the final but manager Pochettino hinted at the time that returning with the trophy could make for a fitting swansong.

Along with Barcelona and Real Madrid, Juventus have registered an interest in the midfielder as well.
