Xhaka leading candidate to replace Koscielny as Arsenal captain

Unai Emery insists Arsenal are working to bring in "three or four" players before the start of the new season.

Switzerland global Xhaka was one of five players to pull on the armband under Unai Emery last season and the Telegraph reports that he is the favourite to become the club's next permanent skipper.

The Gunners have already signed Gabriel Martinelli and are pursuing another youngster, William Saliba.

Arsenal have been linked to a host of players and have had bids rejected by Celtic for Kieran Tierney, which has left fans of the Premier League side frustrated.

"We also have Mesut and Nacho, and also other players, they can take this position also". We have a clear idea to sign players to help us with quality and in the positions we need.

It's claimed Arsenal are battling with Tottenham to land the 22-year-old as Unai Emery looks to splash the cash.

For example, for the West African epidemic, the US Congress had offered US$ 5.4 billion right after WHO's emergency declaration. The WHO says the virus is likely spread over tens of kilometers and poses a high regional risk given its proximity to borders.

We are being very, very demanding and first speaking about the possibility to sign very expensive players.

Emery said: 'We are speaking about the big players because we are starting thinking about our team our squad now.

"We have players with the capacity [to be captains]".

"Our target is to achieve three, four players to really improve our team and squad now", he said. The first player in our list is our first target, if we can not achieve that the second.

Due to the influx of stars at the La Liga side, a number of players will need to seek first team football elsewhere for the coming campaign, with Ceballos one such player who is set for a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

"At the moment Koscielny has a contract with us but we'll speak with the club and him about if he will continue or not".
