Chelsea starlet Mason Mount pens new five-year deal

He will get the chance to impress under Lampard once again this season after the former England global signed a three-year deal to become the club's new manager. Lampard is not set to give Kasey Palmer any time at the club and it looks like the midfielder's time at the Stamford Bridge is up and the manager is prepared to sanction another loan move for the youngster.

Chelsea have announced a new five-year deal for English midfielder Mason Mount, who has committed his future to the Blues till the summer of 2024.

"I watched a lot of Chelsea a year ago under Maurizio Sarri", he said ahead of Chelsea's pre-season clash with Kawasaki Frontale in Yokohama.

Speaking shortly after arriving in Yokohama on Tuesday for the Japan leg of the club's pre-season tour, Lampard said he was impressed with the attitude of his new charges.

"We need strong competition throughout the squad and I think we have that here". We can not bring in any players we know that.

Russian planes continue to deliver S-400 parts to Turkey
The delivery of components of the S-400 long-range air defence system is ongoing, the ministry added. The S-400 can engage targets at a distance of 400 km and at an altitude of up to 30 km.

Mason Mount has always been touted to be one to look out for and someone who could emulate John Terry and Ruben Loftus-Cheek by becoming a regular member of the Chelsea first-team setup.

The 20-year-old's form in the second tier earned him a call-up into Gareth Southgate's full England squad last autumn - he has yet to be capped at that level but has represented the under-21s - and he scored for Lampard's Chelsea side in Saturday's 4-0 win over St Patrick's Athletic in Dublin.

"It was always my goal to play for the first team one day". "The young players are wonderful, they have the quality already to play for this club, so I have to do my role as a senior player trying to help them and also doing my job".

"The young players have to work with this mentality". They now have to make the difference.

Chelsea begin their league campaign against Manchester United at Old Trafford on August 11.
