ASUS confirms the ROG Phone 2 will include the Snapdragon 855 Plus

First is that the phone will be launched on 23 July. NASA has it all covered with events, and a live broadcast on Friday, and The Washington Monument will turn into a rocket to celebrate, too. Kondap went on to call the new processor Qualcomm's "most advanced mobile platform to date".

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM), unveiled the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 855 Plus Mobile Platform, a follow on to the flagship Snapdragon 855 launching with leading OEMs globally, built for speed to support enhanced performance and deliver leading experiences in multi-gigabit 5G, gaming, AI and XR.

For those who don't know, the Snapdragon 855 Plus is an overclocked edition of the flagship Snapdragon 855. These processors fit well with the phones releasing in the later half of the year who want that edge over those from earlier in the year. Qualcomm said the Snapdragon 855 Plus's graphics processing unit (GPU) will have a 15% boost over the standard Snapdragon 855.

Jay-Z also joined in the mutual compliment session, telling Harry: "Congrats on the birth of your baby". And unsurprisingly, the Suits star turned Duchess of Sussex hinted that the transition has been hard .

Qualcomm has released a mid-generation processor upgrade in the form of the Snapdragon 855 Plus. The only changes we are seeing are the increases in clock speed for the "Prime" CPU core and the increased performance from the GPU as well.

David notes Qualcomm didn't say anything about where that performance increase comes from. The new chip reportedly offers 15 percent faster GPU when compared with the Snapdragon 855 SoC. Second being that it will be the first phone to come with Qualcomm's powered up Snapdragon 855 Plus. We see no notches or punch holes, just a classic approach with a top bezel and a fairly large bottom chin. Will OnePlus go for some kind of OnePlus 7T Pro? Asus didn't offer many details about the device, however, with the promise that "full details and specifications of this exciting new gaming phone will be announced in the coming weeks".
