CWC 2019: Jason Roy fined for showing dissent at umpire’s decision

As it turned out, Jason Roy had been given out by the Sri Lankan umpire, which was the wrong decision.

Sri Lanka's Kumar Dharmasena and South Africa's Maraia Erasmus have been appointed as the on-field umpires. Though Dharamasena is standing in the final, Jason Roy met him before the match and settle his grievance, confirmed the ICC World Cup's official twitter handle by sharing this image.

That took his tally for the World Cup to three but match bans only kick in when a player collects four demerit points in total, leaving Roy available to feature on Sunday as England bid to win the World Cup for the first time.

"Roy top-scored with 85 in England's chase of 224, helping the tournament hosts to their first Men's Cricket World Cup final in 27 years".

After the game, Roy was found guilty of breaching Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. Roy admitted his offence and thus there would be no hearing taking place. "He won't face any suspension".

Pakistan to witness partial Moon eclipse on July 16-17 night
The eclipse will begin below the horizon but the initial penumbral stage is barely discernible from a regular Moon. Bangalore might be facing some weather issues due to this Lunar eclipse named "Half-blood thunder moon eclipse".

But Cowan, speaking on ABC Grandstand's World Cup podcast, said his behaviour was an "absolute disgrace".

Cowan said it didn't matter if Dharmasena was uncertain about what decision to make before raising his finger, because once the umpire gives you out, that's the end of the discussion. He also umpired the 2016 World T20 final.

Rod Tucker will be the sole Australian representative at Lord's in his capacity as third umpire, while Aleem Dar, of Pakistan, will be fourth official.

Jason Roy was fined two demerit points and 30 per cent of his fee by ICC match referee Ranjan Madugalle after reacting badly to being given out by Kumar Dhamasena, caught behind down the leg side off Pat Cummins for 85.
