Ex Spartan Malik McDowell fights Lathrup Village officer in wild video

TMZ released a video on July 9 of former football player Malik McDowell fighting with an officer in a MI convenience store after he was pulled over for speeding.

The officer repeatably asks McDowell for his license and registration, to which McDowell only replies, "I need to see your supervisor".

After not staying in his vehicle like the officer asked, McDowell proceeded to enter the convenient store in Lathrup Village.

McDowell sits down but refuses to conform with the keen officer and is in the end hit with the Taser.

One officer claimed Malik McDowell reached for their gun before he was subdued.

McDowell faces charges of two counts of felony assaulting and resisting, one misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated, and misdemeanor driving on a suspended license, according to NBC Sports. McDowell, who is now a free agent, had a visit with the Dallas Cowboys in March, but it has not led to a contract so far. The officer might well perhaps perhaps be heard repeatedly telling McDowell to "luxuriate in a seat on your automobile".

The football player then pulls out the prongs of the Taser and at one point, McDowell is heard imploring the officer, "Don't shoot me".

A simple traffic stop did not have to result in an altercation or defensive lineman Malik McDowell arrested, but it did, and the video makes it look even worse than it sounds.

"The surveillance footage in the store shows the 6'6" McDowell walking into the convenience store, dragging an officer half his size along with him. McDowell then engages the police officer, showing to attain for the Taser.

Throughout the scuffle, McDowell is repeatedly heard requesting for the officer's supervisor to be called to the scene. But the 23-year-old disobeyed, demanding to speak to a supervisor, according to video obtained by TMZ, which reports that McDowell's BAC was.189, more than twice the legal limit.
