Donald Trump tears into 'lame duck failure' Paul Ryan

President Donald Trump lambasted Paul Ryan on Thursday night, ripping the ex-House speaker as a "running lame duck failure" with "poor leadership".

Mr Trump tweeted that when presidential candidate Mitt Romney chose Mr Ryan as a running mate "I told people that's the end of that Presidential run". And only then would he try to make his peace with how he sold his soul to Trump, saying that he knows his support looks hypocritical and self-serving, but he never meant to help enable Trump's unprecedented assault on America's small-d democratic ideals. "They gave me standing O's in the Great State of Wisconsin, & booed him off the stage", Trump wrote. And that I can promise you is the main reason Paul Ryan retired. And when asked again, Gardner dodged again, saying "What we need is an ability to find a way to reform the laws to make sure they work for everyone".

"Couldn't get him out of Congress fast enough!"

Trump's scathing slap-down is seen as a push-back to the Washington Post's printing of sections of Tim Alberta's new book, 'American Carnage'.

Mr. Trump reportedly did not have positive affirmations for Mr. Ryan either, calling him an "f-- Boy Scout", according to Mr. Alberta. The only success Paul Ryan had was the time that he was with me because we got taxes cut.

And now Ryan sees Trump's presidency growing ever more risky, without the people around Trump like, you know, him who "really helped to stop him from making bad decisions".

Since achieving a third-place finish in 2014, Pinot has always struggled at his home race, and skipped it past year . Our goal was to come to the Tour for winning a stage. "Since I've done that I'm more relaxed", he said.

"Those of us around him have really helped keep him from making bad decisions. Now I think he's making some of those knee-jerk reactions".

Alberta writes that Ryan couldn't stand the thought of another two years with Trump and saw retirement as an "escape hatch", according to The Washington Post, which obtained a copy of the book. Don't call a woman a 'horse face.' Don't cheat on your wife. On Friday, Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) came to Ryan's defense, blaming himself for the pair's loss in the 2012 presidential election to their Democrat rivals, former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden. Be a good person. Now, according to Paul Ryan spokespeople, those words are Tim Alberta's.

Bottom line is this, Paul Ryan likely did retire partly because he wanted to get away from Donald Trump and what he was doing to the Republican Party. "For Paul Ryan to be complaining is pretty incredible".

"Speaker Paul Ryan is a truly good man, and while he will not be seeking re-election, he will leave a legacy of achievement that nobody can question", Trump tweeted.

Ultimately, Ryan came on board in the waning days of election, saying his was a binary choice between Trump and Hillary Clinton, who he said would be a continuation of Democratic power in Washington. For example, readers can follow the reactions to the release of Trump's controversial "Access Hollywood" tapes, both by his high-profile campaign staff and party leaders.
