WarnerMedia announces HBO Max, an all-inclusive streaming service

According to Variety, Pretty Little Liars and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air will also leave Netflix for HBO Max when it launches next spring.

HBO Max will also carry original shows and movies.

The HBO Max streaming service is scheduled to launch in spring 2020. Neither of the companies other streaming services are available in the United Kingdom, and instead it has lucrative deals with Sky to make HBO content available on Sky Atlantic and Now TV - those deals mean that it's very unlikely we'll see HBO Max here.

WarnerMedia plans to launch HBO Max in early-2020, roughly at the same time and just after The Walt Disney Company plans to launch its new streaming service Disney+ on 12 November 2019 in the United States.

It will compete with Netflix, Walt Disney Co's upcoming Disney+ streaming service, and other digital subscription options as traditional media companies seek to attract online viewers.

The post has led to some anger among the fans who have subscribed to the streaming service, with some even suggesting that they will end their subscription when the show leaves next year, US Weekly reported.

"HBO Max will bring together the diverse riches of WarnerMedia to create programming and user experiences not seen before in a streaming platform".

WarnerMedia Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said HBO Max would feature original programming, 'exciting acquisitions, and the very best of the Warner Bros. libraries, starting with the phenomenon that is Friends'.

There are also new exclusive film production deals with Greg Berlanti, one of Hollywood's most prolific and successful producers, and Reese Witherspoon. Kendrick will star in a romantic comedy anthology series called "Love Life".

Made for Love: a 10-episode, half-hour, straight-to-series adaptation based on the tragicomic novel of the same name by Alissa Nutting, also from Somerville and directed by S.J. Clarkson.
