Brazil's Bolsonaro offers his son the post of ambassador in Washington

Jair Bolsonaro, the a ways-beautiful president of Brazil, has invited his son to alter into ambassador to the US.

"Eduardo is a friend of Donald Trump's children, speaks English and Spanish, and has long experience with world affairs".

Eduardo Bolsonaro, now a federal congressman, told reporters he would accept the role if nominated. "It is not nepotism, I would never do that", Mr Bolsonaro said on a live social media broadcast on Friday.

Eduardo Bolsonaro, son of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, arrives for the showing of a documentary on the government of Jair Bolsonaro in Washington, U.S., March 16, 2019. The ambassadorship has been vacant since January 1, when Jair Bolsonaro took office.

The appointment of a president's son would be unprecedented in the diplomatic history of Brazil, where ambassadors are usually career diplomats, columnist Diogo Schelp wrote.

Mr Bolsonaro uses several of his members of the family as reliable advisers.

Though he now serves as the head of the House of Representatives' Foreign Relations Committee, he has never taken an actual diplomatic job before.

When asked by reporters about his qualifications for the position, he said he had been in a foreign exchange programme where he "fried hamburgers in the United States, in the cold in Maine".

Mr Bolsonaro used to be elected final one year after a worthwhile marketing campaign he talked about had been impressed by Donald Trump.
