Man Kills 17-Year-Old Boy for Listening to Rap Music

A teen boy was murdered inside an Arizona convenience store - and it was all over rap music. When emergency responders arrived, a witness was trying to stop the bleeding from his neck.

Police performed CPR on him before he was transported to a local hospital.

Last week, 17-year-old Elijah El-Amin was stabbed inside an Arizona convenience store, later succumbing to his injuries.

In accordance to police reviews, Adams, a white man, acknowledged his aversion to rap comes from outdated incidents the build he's been attacked by unlit, Hispanic and Native Individuals who hear to the genre.

Adams said he lunged at the teen, who'd been listening to rap music in his vehicle around 2 a.m., because he'd previously been attacked by people of color who listen to rap music.

Adams said that he had felt he "needed to be "proactive rather than reactive" and protect himself and his community from the victim", it added.

Activists and civil rights groups have used the hashtag #JusticeForElijah to demand hate crime charges against Adams.

Some people on Twitter are calling the crime a hate crime.

Maricopa County prosecutors said that under Arizona law the stabbing could be considered a hate crime for sentencing purposes if Adams were convicted, which would be decided later.

According to reports, Adams was just released from prison two days before the incident for several convictions, including aggravated assault.

"They released him to the streets with no medication, no meds, with no way to care for himself", Cotterell said in court, KSAZ reported.

Meanwhile, a statement from Bill Lamoreaux, a spokesman from the Arizona Department of Corrections, stated that Adams was "not designated seriously mentally ill".

So he said he stabbed him with a pocketknife.

Adams modified into as soon as taken to Maricopa County jail for suspicion of first-stage homicide.

Outcry erupted on social media following the death of Al-Amin.

The mentally ill excuse for white people who kill Black people is an ongoing theme.

"I got a call from [Al-Amin's] father, saying, 'Something'g wrong, this is not like Elijah, he's not home yet, '" Elijah's mother Serina Rides said. He had recently expressed interest in hotel management, perhaps inspired by his paternal grandfather, who owned hotels.

Officers arrested Adams on 67th Avenue near the Circle K after he was found with blood on his clothing and body, and later admitted to his involvement in Al-Amin's stabbing.

Funeral services were held for Al-Amin on Monday.
