Jurgen Klopp gives Liverpool transfer update after Tranmere win

Jurgen Klopp gives Liverpool transfer update after Tranmere win

It has been a quiet summer in the transfer market for Liverpool but that is not necessarily a bad thing.

"One hundred per cent, but again it depends on him as well", said Klopp.

"Rhian Brewster and Oxlade-Chamberlain didn't play previous year".

When asked whether he was planning to make any major signings in the coming weeks, Klopp replied: "We have bought them already and you don't realise it. Rhian Brewster, (Alex) Oxlade-Chamberlain didn't play last year, all the young boys didn't play for us last year, they are all new players for us".

Clyne's sixth-minute opener also deserves a mention, while Duncan - the cousin of Steven Gerrard - scored his first senior goal for Liverpool.

"We want to play the best season we can play".

"It's an awesome club, we have a good group, the staff are wonderful. Now he is this wonderful player again so it's great to have him and I'm really, really happy about the signing". I saw a really good game and Rhian is a fantastic player.

Arsenal captain Koscielny refuses to travel on pre-season tour
For a player of Koscielny's stature in the Arsenal dressing room, this can be classed as nothing but a disappointment. Then again, you can not let one player dictate your transfer dealings as they sets a poor precedent.

Speaking in an interview with Liverpool FC's website, Lovren said: "We'll go again step by step".

Brewster is set for his first full pre-season with the main squad after recovering from ankle ligament damage in January 2018.

That is because he will be without Brazil aces Roberto Firmino and Alisson and Senegal star Sadio Mane for the trip to the United States after their involvement in the Copa America and Africa Cup of Nations this summer.

Only five from the Champions League final in May featured in Thursday's win over Tranmere despite 22 players being involved.

Last season Origi earned himself cult-hero status with a stoppage-time derby victor against Everton before scoring twice in the 4-0 Champions League semi-final second leg success over Barcelona and then again in the final victory over Tottenham in Madrid.

"The Brazilians have finally finished a 13-month season. It was a good sign for us, but we have to be better than last season".
