Shock as Arsenal captain refuses to travel on club's USA tour

LAURENT KOSCIELNY has refused to travel on Arsenal's pre-season tour of America.

In a statement, Arsenal said: "We are very disappointed by Laurent's actions, which are against our clear instructions. We hope to resolve this matter and will not be providing any further comment at this time", the statement continued.

Koscielny is seemingly keen to make a move back to France, but as it stands, he's still one of the best defenders at Arsenal, and that could remain the case unless reinforcements are brought in.

The Frenchman has struggled with injury niggles lately, and may be looking for a fresh start elsewhere.

Koscielny remains an important player for Unai Emery.

Koscielny is in the final year of his contract at the Emirates and it's understood he wants to leave the club this summer. Last season Emery dealt with Mesut Ozil being unhappy and the Spanish coach was all about unity and having a collective spirit following Arsene Wenger's departure.

He said some of them had been chopped into pieces and their body parts were hard to recognise. It is far one in all the worst outbreaks of tribal violence in PNG for years.

How do you think Koscielny should be punished by Arsenal?

They are closing in on the capture of Saint-Etienne's 18-year-old defender William Saliba but that deal is expected to see the teenager return to the Ligue 1 side on loan for the next season.

Koscielny, 33, arrived with no luggage and immediately met with the club's new technical director Edu - who is on his first day in the new job.

What a mess. Koscielny hasn't conducted himself well here, and Arsenal putting this out in the open has escalated the seriousness of the situation.
