Google Stadia will only work with four phones at launch

We first learned about it back in the first quarter as a new cheat-proof and cloud-based video game platform by none other than Google.

According to Google, once a gamer buys a title on Stadia, it will continue to remain available for them even if it's withdrawn from the platform for new buyers. And the eagle-eyed folks at 9to5Google noticed that the company quietly updated the FAQ for Stadia on Google Support, sharing some more details on the platform.

- Games purchased in the Stadia are available in all countries where the Platform is available, regardless of where they were purchased, but not in a country where the Stadia is not yet available. Stadia would also follow Apple in having a subscription offering (Stadia Pro and Apple Music) as well as a storefront (purchases and iTunes) to give people more options for this new approach to game distribution.

For those looking to utilize their Chromecast devices, the Founder's Edition is confirmed to be compatible with Chromecast Ultra, though the official Stadia controller will be required.

Packers Pass on Making Pick in NFL Supplemental Draft
It remains to be seen if there's pro bowl level talent that will come out of this year's class, but it's always a possibility. Many speculated that Thompson could be had with a fourth or fifth-round pick and that proved to be correct.

"What happens to a game I bought if the publisher stops supporting Stadia in the future?"

Another thing that Google clarified is that the account you sign up for Stadia doesn't have to be the address you use. "You can then use a different email account when redeeming your Stadia redemption code".

The FAQ update also revealed the mobile devices will be supported at launch and the number of players you can have locally. So if you have an Android device that isn't one of those two - or even a Pixel model that launched before October 2018 - you are basically locked out of Stadia for a few months. More mobile devices will be able to work with Stadia soon. Speaking of the Stadia controller, the FAQ says it uses BLE for setup, but it connects via WiFi for gameplay.

Pixel 3 and 3a owners are in luck, plus all those with Chrome-running tablets. Note that the Stadia Controller can be plugged into a phone, tablet, or computer via USB-C. "At the moment, we have no news to share with respect to VR support in Stadia".
