Winks and Davies sign new Tottenham deals

Winks and Davies sign new Tottenham deals

Davies signed for Spurs in July 2014 from Swansea City and has played 168 times for the Lilywhites in all competitions, scoring four goals.

Meanwhile, Trippier endured a tough campaign last time out, failing to recapture his excellent form of both the season before and last summer's World Cup, in which he was instrumental in guiding England to the semi-finals.

Winks has been rewarded for an impressive season in which he made 26 Premier League appearances and cemented his place in the England set-up.

"It's a contract, like Ben, I have worked hard for".

It is understood that Winks will remain an ever-present in the centre of the park, despite the arrival of club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele and any extra arrivals would not impact him.

Speaking on the move, head coach Smith said: "We're really pleased to have Tyrone back at Aston Villa on a permanent basis". The 26-year-old wrote on his account: "Absolutely delighted to be back as a permanent @AVFCOfficial player".

Earlier on Monday, the club confirmed former midfielder Ryan Mason had been appointed coach of the under-19 UEFA Youth League side.

A previous report suggested that the Premier League side may have to scrap ambitions to bring in Lo Celso if they were unable to part ways with Christian Eriksen, who has just one year left on his contract.

Existing members of staff Chris Riley and Troy Archibald-Henville assume revised roles to support the older players in the academy.

'It's also important to have a mix of experience through internal promotions and external appointments, including coaches who have recently retired and are current with the modern player. Fulham are standing on a £40 million evaluation of the player.
