Senate Bill Would Halt Funding for U.S

IRISH SINGER Sinead O'Connor has lent her support to calls for the US Women's Soccer Team to be paid more than the men's. The 2026 installment will be hosted jointly with Canada and Mexico, but the majority of venues are set to be located in the U.S. Joe Manchin, D-West Virginia, says no federal money should be used for any aspect of the 2026 World Cup - including support for a host city and for U.S. Soccer - "until the date on which the United States Soccer Federation agrees to provide equitable pay" for the women's and men's players.

"I received a letter from Coach Izzo-Brown highlighting her worries that women on the WVU Women's Soccer Team could one day make the USA women's team and not get paid the same as the men's team".

The Democrat has introduced legislation that would withhold federal funding from the men's World Cup in 2026 until the USA women's national team gets paid as much as their male counterparts.

Manchin's legislation comes on the heels of the US Women's National Team's stunning performance during the women's World Cup, ultimately beating the Netherlands 2-0 to win the tournament on Sunday.

The US Women's National team also won the World Cup in 1991 and 1999.

Love Island fans predict Lucie and George likely to be next dumped
The website says: "Would you like to be at the Love Island Final this year?" You are not going to be happy whilst I'm still here. Amy and Curtis had been one of the two least popular couples in the public vote alongside Lucie Donlan and George Rains.

A ticker tape parade was held Wednesday in New York City to shower the USA women's national soccer team with praise and paper confetti.

Cuomo thanked the team for helping to lead the fight for equality. The women's games have also garnered higher ratings and more revenue in recent years.

In an interview Tuesday on CNN, Rapinoe said that winning the World Cup was "huge for the lawsuit", in terms of swaying even more "public perception to our side", but that the conversation had moved past equal pay, given how her team had proved its worth.

The women's World Cup record, as well as their four Olympic gold medals and No. 1 ranking these last 10 years were outlined as some of the reasons for better compensation in the lawsuit. They've won zero World Cup titles.

Olivia Ciampi, 15, of Rockaway, Queens, who joined the throng with her mother, agreed equal pay for the team was long overdue. "That's just plain wrong", Manchin stated in a press release.
