Pixel Launcher in Android Q Gets Swipe Down to See Notifications Gesture

Android Q Beta 5 rocks this feature and it's on a system-wide level so and since this is the final build before Android Q goes live, smartphones that will ship with Android Q will be the first to play around with this feature.

The formal announcement of the new open beta testing program comes via a post by a Google employee to the Messages help community, together with a formal request that participants not "publicize or share the features you're testing until they're publicly available" - like anyone is going to adhere to that. Google also introduced a new feature in the third beta of Android Q. As reported by Android Police, the beta version included a Battery Saver feature which is similar to the Low Power Mode of iOS. Google plans to remedy this by making it a two-step process, including a "peek" onto the navigation drawer and then swipe to open it.

Perhaps to make sure that these elements don't interfere with the new back gesture, we should be seeing an option to change the sensitivity of the back swipe.

Right on schedule, Google has launched the next version of the Android Q beta - specifically, Beta 5.

Another change is the new Google Assistant animation whic looks neat.

Senator introduces USWNT equal pay bill after letter from NCAA coach
The USWNT , which won its fourth World Cup crown on Sunday, has been fighting for equal pay for some time . Senate that, if passed, would see the federal government withhold funding for the 2026 World Cup until U.S.

For apps using a navigation drawer, we've added a peek behavior when users have grabbed the drawer to indicate that a swipe will bring in the navigation drawer.

Basically, if you use a third party launcher in beta 5, you can not use gesture navigation.

It'll also fix an issue that users were having in beta 4 when accessing the nav drawer. The Android Q beta 5 is said to arrive within this week or next week.

Once again, Google's tweaking its gesture navigation system.
