Prince Harry and Meghan’s son Archie christened in private service

Despite the Queen not being able to attend, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were surrounded by loved ones at Archie Mountbatten Windsor's Windsor Castle christening on Saturday. Baby Archie's outfit is a replica of a royal heirloom.

Meghan and Harry shared another, more intimate photo from their Sussex Royal account.

Katie Nicholl, who has written a series of biographies on the royal family, claimed that hands-on parents Prince Harry and Meghan asked the royal childminder to sign an "extensive" non-disclosure agreement. In both pictures, you can see Archie's face bright and clear. While the Harriet style in black was her go-to choice last October on her and Prince Harry's 16-day tour, this time she debuted the high-rise skinny design in Bryon Tonal, a mid-blue shade.

The first of two official photos shows baby Archie in the drawing room with the extended family - which sounds weirdly like a Cludeo answer when I see it all written out like that.

The replica has been worn by royal infants at christenings for the last 11 years.

No announcement identifying the godparents has been made, but some are speculating that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have chosen Canadian stylist Jessica Mulroney, daughter-in-law of former prime minister Brian Mulroney.

Thomas Markle, who has never met either his son-in-law the Duke or his baby grandson, said he would have "enjoyed" seeing Archie being welcomed into the Church of England had he been invited. This is the first Mother's Day for The Duchess of Sussex.

Harry, Meghan and Archie are also sitting on a green bench with gold detailing which also holds a very sweet meaning.

The pictures were released on the official Instagram handle which read, "This morning, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle at an intimate service officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby".

Earlier this month, it was reported by United States magazine Harper's Bazaar that a new "British-born female nanny" had been hired for baby Archie.

"They feel so fortunate to have enjoyed this special moment with family and Archie's godparents".

She's the most important person in the royal family so when it was announced that the Queen wouldn't be in attendance at Archie's christening, fans were left baffled.

Contrasted against her long brunette hair, the pearl drop earrings looked stunning in the photo.

Archie wore a handmade replica of the royal christening robe which was made for Queen Victoria's eldest daughter.
