Microsoft Working on Major Changes for Windows 10 Magnifier App

The Windows 1.11 app does appear to emulate the UI of the first version of Windows but inside you will find various Easter eggs and secrets that tie it in with Stranger Things from Netflix.

Microsoft and Netflix partnered around the third season of the series to bring custom 1985-inspired experiences to life for fans, with retro video games like Dragon's Lair, plus 4k retro images for a Windows Throwback, Stranger Things 3 wallpapers, and Camp Know Where, which teaches fans to make a Stranger Things video or code their own games to 'rule the arcade'.

Needless to say, Windows 10 20H1 is still far away, as its debut would only take place in the first half of the next year, so Microsoft still has plenty of time to refine the experience with it and improve the update in a way that better aligns with the feedback. The cryptic description on the Microsoft Store listing invites users to explore the world of Windows 1.11 and Strangers Things. Join Eleven, Steve, Dustin and gang as they seek to save Hawkins and the world.

Of course there's nothing odd about Windows 1.0.

Microsoft is moving full steam ahead with its Windows 10 20H1 development, despite there being around 10 months until it launches. But fair warning: beware the Mind Flayer.

The game is listed on Microsoft Store and is expected to release on July 8.

However, Windows 1.11 was temporarily available to download earlier in the day, and we got to have a play with it. The app is described as a companion game for Stranger Things' season 3, and it's built as reimagination of Windows 1.0 with a Stranger Things twist.

"Before we move forward, are you sure you're ready to go know where?". Anyone interested in entering the contest, which runs until July 15, needs to Retweet or Like the reveal post on the Xbox Twitter channel or the Xbox Facebook page.
