Kevin Spacey pretrial hearing may bring actor, accuser face-to-face

A report claims actor Kevin Spacey has been questioned by Scotland Yard about alleged sexual assaults in the United Kingdom.

The British cops grilled Spacey, who is accused of assaulting six different men between 1996 and 2013, in the United States sometime in May, Variety reported Saturday.

Variety reported that Spacey was interviewed in the U.S. in May by Scotland Yard officers investigating six allegations of sexual assault that were said to have occurred between 1996 and 2013.

"He was not arrested". Spacey was interrogated by the Scotland Yard in the USA, though we remain uncertain if the inquiry was tied to all the allegations mentioned herein.

The star was sacked by Netflix's House Of Cards and Sir Ridley Scott erased him from his completed film All The Money In The World in re-shoots costing millions.

The accuser's attorney, Mitchell Garabedian, told CNN via email Friday that he and his client voluntarily dropped the lawsuit and that he would have no further comment. Most of the cases center on alleged assaults in the London districts of Lambeth and Westminster; one concerns an alleged incident in Gloucester, a city in the west of England.

Spacey still faces a criminal charge in the USA and pleaded not guilty to indecent assault and battery in January.

Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to two counts of soliciting a prostitute and served 13 months in a Florida state prison. Asked by email if Epstein planned to plead not guilty to any charges, a lawyer for Epstein, Jack Goldberger, replied, "Yes".

While the House of Cards star has not faced any formal charges in the United Kingdom, a 2017 internal investigation by The Old Vic resulted in "20 personal testimonies of alleged inappropriate behavior" by the actor.

Mr Spacey claimed to have no memory of the events, but publicly apologised.

The Oscar-winning actor still faces a criminal charge in America, and pleaded not guilty to indecent assault and battery back in January.

Nantucket District Court Judge Thomas Barrett has ordered the man to hand the phone over to the defense, but his attorney said they can not find it.

Spacey became a big name in the #MeToo movement in October, 2017 after actor Anthony Rapp accused him of trying to seduce him in a hotel room, when he was just 14.

CNN is not naming the accuser because he is an alleged victim of sexual assault. However, the accuser and his family have said they don't have it and don't know where it is. The judge has given them until Monday to produce the phone.
