Huawei trademarks new apps, most likely to be integrated into HongMeng OS

Speaking with French news site Le Point, Huawei CEO and founder, Ren Zhengfei, said Hong Meng is likely to be 60% faster than Android, citing a story from Chinese media about Chinese handset brands Oppo and Vivo testing the new OS.

"We build the system to connect all things, and that's how we step into an intelligent society", said Ren.

It's no secret that Huawei is working on its own OS, which it could employ on smartphones if the U.S. follows through with its Huawei ban, a ban which would see the Chinese manufacturer lose access to Google's vital Android services such as the Play Store, security updates and suite of Google apps.

Zhengfei also talked up its protection of user data, claiming it would never hand over data to the Chinese government because it would be too risky for its reputation internationally.

Those have been the allegations hurled at Huawei even before Trump's administration but it seems that the U.S. government has no direct and irrefutable proof yet of the company's involvement in such activities.

Deutsche Bank's news helped limit the downbeat sentiment in broader Europe, with the pan-European STOXX 600 index adding 0.07%. In his defense, Powell has said the Fed is an independent bank "insulated from short-term political pressures".

"Huawei will remain on the so-called Entity's List, where there are serious export controls and in any national security instances or suggestions there won't be any licenses, but having said that, I think that all that's going to happen is the commerce department will grant some temporary additional licenses where there's a general availability", he said.

Presentation HongMeng could be held August 9 - on this date at Huawei scheduled start of the event for developers Huawei Developer Conference 2019 (2019 or HDC).

It's also worth to note that recently US President Donald Trump removed the ban on Huawei Phones.

"They don't intervene in their business operations. I would rather die", he was quoted as saying. I don't know why the United States government micro manages its tech companies as much as they do.
