Nunes takes out Holm with head kick in 1st round

Nunes stopped Holly Holm late in the first round to defend her bantamweight title, and Jones squeaked out a split-decision victory over Thiago Santos to defend his light heavyweight title on Saturday night. After she floored Holm (12-5) with a perfectly timed kick to the head, she mercilessly finished Holm with punches on the ground with 50 seconds left in the first round.

Brazilian Nunes finished veteran U.S. fighter Holm in the first round of their bout at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas at UFC 239 on Saturday night, sealing the win with a head kick that Holm herself has made her trademark.

"I told my coaches I wanted to knock her out the same way she knocks people out", Nunes said after the bout. "I did it tonight". She was the only former champion I hadn't beaten yet. And I fought him where he's comfortable and I have sore feet and sore legs and I'm very grateful that I came out on top.

The victory gives Nunes victories over every former 135- and 145-pound women's champ: Holm, Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate, Cris Cyborg, and Germaine de Randamie.

Check out how the pros reacted to Jon Jones vs. Thiago Santos below. "I'm proud of myself, because I stood with a guy who's been kickboxing way longer than me".

Santos appeared to hurt his leg during the fight, but he kept striking and counterpunching against Jones.

Team Rocket for Pokemon Go Teased Again by Niantic
As for the upcoming Pokemon movie , while it launches in Japan on July 11, it won't arrive in western theaters until November 17. But given Niantic's tradition of reusing content with visual updates in the past, it's probably safe to assume the same here.

In perhaps the night's most thrilling moment, Miami's Jorge Masvidal (34-13) set a UFC record for fastest knockout when he flattened 2008 U.S. Olympic wrestler Ben Askren (19-1) of Milwaukee in just five seconds.

"I felt like I was winning".

Jan Blachowicz registered an impressive knockout over Luke Rockhold on the American's light heavyweight debut.

Jones: "We all knew Thiago's best chance was to knock me out".

The Polish veteran (23-9) staggered Rockhold with a kick at the first-round bell, and he ended it with a hook that left Rockhold glassy-eyed while he fell to the canvas.

Me and Daniel, we're both speaking the same thing. "Top 10 [opponent] next and I won't accept anything else". Get UFC 239 and upgrade your monthly subscription to an ESPN+ annual plan for only $79.98 (original value of $119.87).
