Wizards trade C Howard to Grizzlies

Dwight Howard is on the move yet again.

The Grizzlies are trading shooting guard C.J. Miles to Washington for Howard.

National Basketball Association insider Adrian Wojnarowski has confirmed the move.

The Wizards dealt the eight-time All-Star center to the Grizzles for CJ Miles on Friday night, according to ESPN.

There's a lot to unpack here, but the bottom line is Memphis is freeing up salary space to potentially make some free agent moves.

Howard, 33, played in only nine games this past season with the Wizards due to a back injury which required surgery.

July 6, 2018: The Brooklyn Nets finalized a contract buyout with Howard after the draft-day trade that sent Timofey Mozgov and the 45th pick to the Charlotte Hornets.

Including the Washington, Howard has played for a different team each of the last four seasons and six teams overall in his 15-year career.

The 28-year-old Bradley scored 16.1 points per game in 14 contests with Memphis last season after being acquired in a trade with the Clippers. Howard was considered the best center in the NBA at the start of the decade and despite a rough past few years, he will likely be elected to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame after he retires.
