Veteran Buffon returns to Juventus after year at PSG

Just 12 months have passed since Buffon bid an emotional farewell to Juve when the decision was taken to move on at the end of his contract after spending 17 memorable years with the club.

The 2006 World Cup victor will bring experience to the dressing room.

In what is thought to be his final season ahead of retirement, the Italian could now add to his nine Serie A titles, four Coppa Italia titles and five Supercoppa Italiana titles, with the only trophy still evading him being the coveted Champions League.

Once the exit doors were opened at Parc des Princes, various landing spots for a modern-day great were mooted and it was suggested that he could head to England, but Silvano Martina claims a homecoming was always the preferred option.

The former Italy goalkeeper said: "I am happy to have returned home and to have the opportunity to embrace you and be embraced by you again".

While there was no sign of Prince William or their baby son Archie, Meghan was spotted wearing a necklace with an "A" pendant. Asked if she might be one day doing the same with Archie, Williams said: "I'm actually working on Olympia's game".

He made 25 appearances for the Parisians last season, helping them to the French title but they suffered a shock defeat to Manchester United in the last-16 of the Champions League. He didn't stay in Italy.

Buffon is now forming part of an exciting summer of recruitment by the Serie A champions.

He has signed a one-year contract with the bianconeri, who are now managed by former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri. "I consider Rabiot making the best choice", Martina said.

In January, while still at PSG, Buffon regretted missing out on the chance of playing alongside Ronaldo, but now the football stars will finally be able to play in the same starting 11. The Welsh can only be filled with pride.
